The Municipal Office will be CLOSED Monday, August 4th (Civic Holiday), reopening August 5th at 8:30AM.

There will be no changes to garbage or recycling collection Monday, August 4th, 2025. Please have all items out for collection by 7:00AM.

The Smith Landfill (1480 County Road 18) and all branches of the Selwyn Public Library will also be CLOSED.

NO Brush Burning!

Brush Burning is NOT permitted due to dry conditions.

How to Report an Issue

Please complete the form below to report an issue. Residents can also report issues in the following ways:

  • In person at the Selwyn Township Office during our regular business hours (Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM)
  • By phone at 705-292-9507 during our regular business hours or by email at info@selwyntownship.ca.

We monitor submissions to this form during regular business hours. 

If the issue is an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

Types of Issues

  • For all garbage collection inquiries, contact Waste Connections of Canada at 705-742-4268.
  • For all recycling collection inquiries, contact Emterra Environmental at 1-888-597-1541.
  • For animal control issues, please contact the Peterborough Humane Society at 705-745-4722 ext. 215. 
  • For a sewer backup, contact Public Works at 705-292-9507 (For After Hours Emergencies, call 705-926-0205). 
  • For reporting a watermain break, contact Public Works at 705-292-9507 (For After Hours Emergencies, call 705-926-0205). 
  • For a complaint regarding an active burn or a non-active burn, contact the Fire Department at 705-292-7282. Dial 9-1-1 for all emergency fire situations.
  • For reporting a environmental spill, contact the Spills Action Centre at 1-800-268-6060.
  • For all other concerns, complete the form below or contact the Selwyn Township Office at 705-292-9507 (Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM).
